It is a process of the mind, body and spirit, working together to restore balance and health. A Healing Meditation breaks down years of negative thoughts that accumulate in our bodies causing disease. Years of bad diets, pollutants in our food, water and daily stress, trigger illness. Through positive thought in meditation, reversing this process can lead to wellbeing and good health.

Having a positive mental attitude is important when meditating to heal the self. Optimists will experience greater changes than that of a pessimist. There are many techniques available to use in meditation to restore health. One good example is to lie down, close the eyes, and follow you breathing with your mind to a point where respirations are deep slow and effortless. At this stage, you will be relaxed and ready to begin to heal. Imagine that a large dollop of butter is sitting on the top of your head and is slowly melting. As it melts it starts to flow down your head, face and neck. Then your shoulders, arms, chest, back, abdomen, buttocks, perineum, legs and finally to the soles of your feet. Imagine this wave of butter is warm. You many experience a tingling sensation in your body. When you reach the soles of the feet, the healing is complete. Just remain still and enjoy the relaxed state of mind and body for however long you would like to.

Another example of healing is to prepare like above, then to imagine a very bright warm white light being drawn down from above your head. It moves slowly down through your body to the soles of your feet. The healing is then complete and will have the same effect of a mind and body deeply relaxed. Just pause for awhile and enjoy. For those that have an existing illness in one or more of the body’s organs, you can focus the white light on that particular body part after doing a complete head to foot white light healing meditation. This can also be used for people suffering with pain. Just focus on that area, imagining it bathed in bright warm white light.

Colour Healing Meditation is similar to both previously discussed methods. Once you have prepared yourself into a state of relaxation. Begin by imagining a golden light above your head. This golden light moves down your body from head to foot bathing you it its warm glow. Then by following the colors of the rainbow, repeat the process with each colour. Start with Red then Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and finally violet.

As for any kind of meditation, results will not become apparent immediately. You will initially benefit from the relaxation process. Slowly with practice you will enter deeper meditative states. Like all disciplines, meditation requires to be incorporated into your daily schedule. With practice you will reap the rewards.
